You don't have to worry about accidents during overseas and domestic travels

The overseas travel accident insurance of up to 20 million yen is automatically added and the domestic travel accident insurance of up to 10 million yen is added when the card is used for the travel.
You can rest easy because a plenty of insurance and compensation services are available.

This insurance compensate for the treatment cost and hospitalization cost paid for an injury or disease, loss due to theft of baggage, etc. during an overseas travel.

Responsibility period

  • The responsibility of this insurance is the travel period from the time of departure from home for an overseas travel to the time of return to home limited to 12:00AM on the day before the date of departure from Japan to 12:00PM on the day following the date of entry into Japan.
  • In principle, the responsibility period is up to 90 days per travel. If the travel is yet to be completed at the end of this period, the responsibility period shall end at 12:00PM on the 90th day.
  • The responsibility period applies to overseas travels which you depart for on and after the day following the Orico member registration date. The member registration date is shown on the mounting of your delivered credit card.

Baggage damage

  • For baggage damage, the limit of the insurance amount shall be 100 thousand yen per piece, set, or pair subject to the insurance. For a passport, ticket, etc., the payment limit shall be 50 thousand yen per piece.
    (The visa and the passport reacquisition cost in Japan are not covered.)
  • For damage of a suitcase, camera, digital camera, video camera, or laptop as baggage, we may suggest "Baggage Cashless Repair Service."

If any accident subject to compensation occurs, please be sure to report to the following contact within 30 days from the day of the accident to start the insurance claim procedure.

    Even if you have multiple Orico card for which the annual fees are not free (including partner member costs), only the insurance of one car will apply.
  • *
    We may not pay the insurance depending on the reason for the injury, etc.
  • *

Responsibility period

The responsibility period of this insurance shall be the following domestic travel period for which you use your own Costco Global Card to pay (e.g. fee for public transportation, accommodation cost, etc.).

  • While your are using public transportation
    (Public transportation does not include taxies, limousines, rental cars, company cars, etc.)
  • While a member stays as a guest at an accommodation facility such as a Japanese inn and hotel for which he/she uses his/her own Costco Global Card.
    (This applies only if he/she pays a part or all of the accommodation cost at the time of check-in.)
    (The compensation applies only to injuries caused by a fire, rupture, or explosion.)
  • While a member participates in an agent organized tour involving staying.
    (However, this shall not apply to any travel period for participation in an agent organized tour or any period of a travel organized by the member as an individual which is not included in an agent organized tour.)
