Sustainability-Oriented Procurement Policy

We will aim to realize a sustainable society throughout the entire supply chain and value chain together with our stakeholders in line with our basic policy on procurement.

Basic Policy on Procurement

Based on our Corporate Philosophy, we adopted the Orico's Sustainability Statement, which clarifies our basic sustainability management policies, and pursue both social and corporate value for a future we share with our stakeholders. In our basic management policies, such as the Human Rights Basic Policy, Environmental Basic Policy, and Customer-Oriented Basic Policy, we also request the understanding and cooperation of our business partners, including member merchants, alliance partners, contractors, and goods and service suppliers, in our sustainability-oriented business operations.

In view of the above, we have formulated the Sustainability-Oriented Procurement Policy as follows.
To formulate the policy, we referred to the UN Global Compact, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and Children’s Rights and Business Principles. We developed the policy on our own, cognizant of the risks we consider significant for our management.

In line with the policy, we will engage in procurement activities in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner based on the principle of free competition in compliance with related laws and regulations.

In particular, we would like to ask our suppliers to review and confirm the following matters to which we are committed, understand our sustainability initiatives, and incorporate them into their own business operations.
We also ask our other business partners and stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation in the following matters:

Legal Compliance

Conduct business honestly and fairly in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries and regions in which we operate.

Anti-Corruption

Focus on ensuring fair and transparent business operations and preventing corruption in all its forms, including fraud, misconduct, bribery, money laundering, and insider trading.

Information Management

Continue efforts to improve information security as well as management systems to protect and properly use personal and confidential information.

Respect for Human Rights

Understand the impact of the business activities on human rights, and take appropriate measures to ensure that none of discrimination, harassment, forced labor or child labor is allowed, that local sustainability is considered, and that the human rights of all stakeholders are respected.

Occupational Safety and Health

Comply with appropriate labor standards, including labor practices, wages, employee health, and occupational health and safety management, as well as strive to respect diversity and increase our human capital.

Customer Protection

Provide products, services, and transactions that are safe, honest, reliable, and respectful of customer rights, including grievance mechanisms.

Responsible Advertising and Marketing

Avoid false and misleading expressions and indications. Take into account vulnerable groups, such as children, adolescents, older adults, and people with disabilities and alert and provide care for them as needed, according to the characteristics of products and services.

Environmental Considerations

Comply with environmental laws and regulations, conserve resources and energy, reduce waste, and make continuous efforts to harmonize environmental preservation and business activities.
