Promotion of women's empowerment

Women account for 40% of our full-time employees and are active in a variety of fields. In order for our company to further develop in the future, it is necessary to expand the scope of women's activities and enable them to demonstrate their capabilities more than ever before. To this end, we are developing various support measures to promote women's activities in terms of career development, awareness raising, and work-life balance.

Action plan for women's empowerment

Based on the "Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace" implemented on April 1, 2016, our company has formulated a new Action plan for promoting women's empowerment (April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2027) as outlined below.

Target 1  Percentage of women employees at the senior manager level and above: 30% or more
Target 2  Percentage of women employees in positions equivalent to general managers: 12% or more
Target 3  Male childcare leave Male employees taking childcare leave for desired periods: Aim for 100%

Our approach:training system, women's network

In order to achieve the above goal, we are continuously conducting various training programs with an eye to appointing female managers, and we are also working to build an internal network of female employees.

Training for women managers

The program includes mock exercises for women in managerial positions to enhance their ability to handle cases, communicate with subordinates, and plan policies, as well as to understand their own strengths and strengthen the skills needed to be a leader.

Selected leadership enhancement training

Our Selected Leadership Enhancement Training program is designed for female employees in assistant manager and team leader positions. The program aims to strengthen their management and communication skills, leveraging their individual strengths. By developing a strong leadership mindset and maximizing their potential, we encourage participants to take further steps in their career progression.

Training for Selected Career Professionals

This course is designed for general staff members of regional courses (regional positions) to review their work experience since joining the company and recognize their own strengths in order to build a specific career vision for the future.

Life Map Cafe 28

This support programme is aimed at female employees aged 28 and encourages them to create a better career plan and life map for themselves, covering topics such as work-life management in light of life events and managing health at each stage of life.

Cross-industry exchange training

Cross-industry collaborative facilitation training

The Cross-industry collaborative facilitation training is designed for employees who have been with the company for at least two years and involves joint programs and exchanges with other companies. Through group work with professionals from different industries, participants have the opportunity to build personal networks, broaden their perspectives, and enhance their facilitation skills. The training aims to develop participants' abilities as facilitators and promotes a cross-industry collaborative mindset.

Management Training

This training program is designed for managers to enhance their skills in managing female employees. It focuses on effective communication and interaction with female staff, strategies for increasing motivation, conveying role expectations, and understanding various policies related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare. The training aims to develop essential skills necessary for nurturing and supporting the growth of female employees.

Orico Women's Network

Orico Women's Network

Since November 2016, we have the "Orico Women's Network," a regional network for women managers. This network provides a platform for women managers to share their unique challenges and experiences, seek advice, and find solutions collaboratively. It aims to foster an internal network where women managers can support and empower each other.
